I was lucky to see Nathaniel Townsley (NYC) play with his trio at the Modern Drummer Festival two years ago. What a trio, what a drummer ! Nathaniel has played with many bands, one with the singer of Living Colour, Cory Glover and another, a tour with Joe Zawinul.
Take a look at this Hudson Musib clip taken at the MD Fest 03... and note the precision chops of this guy !!!
and... note the sound of the bass player !

I've watched that clip before and always thought he sounded great.
Can anyone post some other audio or video clips of him?

Yup, he's funky. I've got the Modern Drummer dvd too. His bassplayer are pretty strange. Plays the whole concert with a sort of autowah.
I dig the music, but after 20 min I need a break. Nice in small doses!
(back I am - my user were pretty fucked. Think I registered 5 users, and only this work... )

His performance on the MD Fest DVD is one of the most dynamic things I have EVER seen. I was blown away by his appraoch... very unique, and he looked so relaxed and happy...
Can anyone suggest some more videos or albums with him?

I bought this Alejandro Sanz "Los Conciertos" 4-DVD set couple of months ago. I had not seen the MTV Unplugged sold separately and got tired of looking and just got the whole set. I was surprised to see Nathaniel Townsley on one of the discs. Great concert with tasty drumming.
